Society's Modern Prison

Meet John. John is in the top 1%. John is broke.

In a civilized society, the ultimate power is money.

In an uncivilized society, the ultimate power is violence.

Interestingly, the government has a monopoly over violence. Meaning you and I have it in our best interest to keep things civil … for as long as humanely possible.

So we need to play the money game. Get good jobs. Earn high salaries. Buy a house. Retire on social security. Forget about money and realize the only thing in life that matters is love - now I'm starting to sound like a hippie.

Except it’s true. If we can get ourselves into a position where money doesn’t matter, we can spend our time enjoying the one thing that does - love.

Problem is, we’re playing a rigged game. You and I, the young people of our generation.

Take John for example. John played the game - and won. John graduated from an Ivy League school for both Undergrad and Grad. He became a senior software engineer. John makes $130/ hour. John has a lovely wife and 3 children. John’s mother is very proud of him. John is broke.

Let me explain. For John to secure a job that pays him $17k/ month (after taxes), he must live in the Bay Area of California. In the Bay, his basic cost of living runs him $5k/ month. He is also very smart, tired of the agenda underlying the public education system, and wants to send his kids to private school; that’s $9k. He also wants to have a nice car for himself and his wife - that’s another $1,000. For peace of mind, John and his wife like to put away $1,500-$2,000 every month. Oh shit. There goes John’s $17k. And he still has $3k/ month in payments to make on his $380k in student loans, a token of his ivy league education.

John is in the top 1%, and John is broke. He can’t move to a cheaper area either, as his salary would be adjusted accordingly. So what is he to do? Well, what can he do? He has to work. He has no choice.

It’s not his fault. It’s not your fault. We are playing a rigged game. A game that seduces you with something called the American Dream - in reality, it’s a cycle of debt that keeps you a slave to the system that has you believing in the holy Dollar. A system that ends with you in a modern prison. The bars are invisible, but you know damn well there’s no way out. Not unless you want your family out on the street with empty stomachs.

Why do they do this to us? To keep us hopeless. To keep our dreams in check. To keep us from growing audacious.

Truth is, they’re scared of us. Scared of the young, audacious people of society changing the world. And don’t think for a second we don’t have the power to. It’s always us that do.

Alexander The Great conquered the world at 25, some reports place him even younger at 23. George Washington began leading men in battle at 21. Our founding fathers were all under the age of 34: Thomas Jefferson was the OLDEST at 33, James Madison was 25, Alexander Hamilton was 21, James Monroe only 18.

These are great men. They undermined the world’s most powerful government, most powerful military, and succeeded.

These same men would be terrified to compete against me. Against you. We have tools at our disposal they would’ve killed for; an unbridled access to information and an unparalleled capacity to take action. The average man today looks like a god in comparison.

Now am I saying we should lead a revolution against the most powerful government humanity has ever seen? No. That would be very hard. And very dangerous. And frankly, I’m too lazy.

A much easier approach would be to remove myself from the rigged game that made me have those thoughts. To become impervious to the will of the government.

We do live in a civilized society, so their greatest tool for control over my life is their money. If I can get myself into a position where I will never need to take their money, then I will never be controlled by the government. Not unless they wanted to created an uncivilized society and abuse their legal or physical prowess. But the unrest that would create in society wouldn’t be good for anyone, including themselves.

With that perspective, what do I need?

I need “fuck you money.” Let’s define “fuck you money” - having the ability to live a comfortable lifestyle without ever needing to kiss another’s ring for the zeros in their bank account. I get there, and the government can’t enslave me.

The easiest way to do that would be not needing any money. To make my expenses zero. Thinking that through for a second, it means I’d be roaming the plains of Wyoming with my horse and living off the land. Nothing wrong with that, but it isn’t the life I want to live. Okay. So. Making my expenses zero, because if they’re not, I need to work to cover the cost of my expenses. Well, what if they’re covered without me needing to work. That’s it!

Practically, fuck you money is having your non-active income exceed your expenses.

Got it. That’s what I’m solving for. I need to increase my non-active income.

What’s the answer? I’m not sure. I’m not in a position of fuck you.

But I have learned about the game of business. Risky, but done properly it’ll grow without my involvement. It is the route I am pursuing to reach that position of fuck you.

What do I have to lose?

What do you have to lose?

Both of us were indoctrinated into playing a rigged game. Fuck that game. I made a new game.

Will you join me?
